SUMMARY
Annual. Culms tufted and assending to erect or decumbent, 30–50 cm high. Sheaths 2–3.5 cm long, densely setose. Ligules membranous, erose, 1.5–1.8 mm long. Blades linear, 4.5–10 cm by 5–10 mm, base rounded, apex acuminate, margin hispid and slightly crenate, both surfaces scaberulous with hairs. Inflorescences composed of racemes; main axis 0–6 cm long. Racemes 2–6, digitate or subdigitate, the longest raceme 5–8.5 cm long. Rachis ribbon-like, winged, ca. 1 mm wide, margin serrate. Spikelets binate, homomorphous, lanceolate, 2.8–3.5 mm long, greenish; hairs smooth, apex acute. Pedicels triquetrous, serrate; abscission truncate. Lower glume chartaceous, apex acute to obtuse, 0.3–0.4 mm long. Upper glume chartaceous, lanceolate, 2–2.4 mm long, 3-nerved, glabrous with hairs at the margin, apex acute. Lower floret neuter; lemma chartaceous, as long as spikelet, 7-nerved, pubescent with glabrous interspaces on either sides of midnerve, apex acute to acuminate; palea membranous, ca. 0.3 mm long. Upper floret hermaphrodite, yellowish to brownish when mature; lemma slightly convex, membranous, 2.5–3 mm long, apex acuminate; palea similar to lemma but slightly shorter. Lodicules truncate, ca. 0.2 mm long. Anthers 0.8–0.9 mm long, yellowish to brownish. Caryopsis oblong, ca. 1.2 mm long, creamy.
